I had the pleasure of joining the festivities on the patio outside City Hall’s Commission Chambers. It was a night to remember, filled with community spirit, history, and excitement as we marked 100 incredible years of Hollywood!
“As we stand at the threshold of a new century, it is with great pride and deep reflection that we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the City of Hollywood. This milestone does not simply mark the passage of time; it is a testament to the resilience, vision, and spirit of the people who have called this place home over the past century.
A hundred years ago, Hollywood was one square mile of farmland, founded by planning visionary Joseph Wesley Young. Through his leadership and determination of our pioneers, dreamers, and hard workers, a foundation was laid that would support generations of families and businesses and form the City that we love today.
All are invited and encouraged to attend any or all of the special centennial activities planned throughout 2025. On this page you will find all the events, news, links to our history, and resources related to our city’s 100th birthday.
This centennial celebration is a time for reflection, but also for renewal. It is a reminder that while our landscape will continue to change, the heart of Hollywood remains steadfast in its commitment to community, connection, and progress. Together, we will continue to write the story of our town for the next 100 years.”
