Loss of a Baby or Child: Honor them on “The Forever Loved Wall – A Teardrop”

Nothing will change you like seeing a mother lose her child at any age, nor any stage. I was that child. I lost my best friend and her mother lost her baby. In that moment I knew I would find a way to honor her, honor this incredible loss. I didn’t know what that would look like, but I was armed with this poem that my childhood best friend wrote to me just hours before we would lose her. I’ve treasured it every day since and I knew one day I would share it with the world in a big way.

∼Welcome to that tribute, “The Forever Loved Wall – A Teardrop”

The relationship a mother has with her baby at any age or stage is so precious. It was hers’, she nurtured, she loved. Whether it was for a few days, a week, full-term, eleven years or beyond. The child that will never grow to their full potential, a child that will never be is life-changing. It’s not about healing. It’s about dealing, shaping and walking that difficult and emotional journey. We never want you to walk alone.

The “Forever Loved Wall – A Teardrop” is dedicated to all the moms who have experienced this loss. It was created to honor the lives that will be in a mother’s heart forever. It is our hope Moms will find comfort in knowing you’re not alone. A part of your heart will forever be memorialized. The people who know you, know a different you than who you might have been because of what you’ve been through. Those babies mattered, your child mattered and they made a mark on your heart and your life. We’d like to help you visually mark those little lives, forever your babies.

If you would like to add your child to our “Forever Loved Wall – A Teardrop” please email us at [email protected]. We would be honored to remember them with you. Every effort is made to get submissions listed to the wall within 24 hours. These names will stay on our site indefinitely, just as they are forever etched in your heart.

You can always find The Forever Loved Wall – A Teardrop on the drop-down menu underneath “Home” in our menu bar.

Help through Grieving the Death of a Child

Surviving the death and loss of a child takes a dedication to life. As a parent, you gave birth to life as a promise to the future. Now you must make a new commitment to living, as hard or impossible as it may seem right now. You will survive this; however, the experience may change you.

Understanding Grief, your grief will be individual and unique. How you grieve over the death and loss of a child and for how long will be different than for anyone else — you need to allow yourself to grieve in your own way.

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month. In 1988, US President Ronald Reagan declared October as a month to recognize the unique grief of bereaved parents in an effort to demonstrate support to the many families who have suffered such a tragic loss.
