Join us on December 2, 2023, as we kick off the transformative journey to redefine Fort Lauderdale’s City Hall – a space that truly belongs to its people. Together, we build resilience, community, and a vision for the future.
About
In April 2023, Fort Lauderdale experienced a rare 1,000-year flood that left City Hall, a civic hub since 1969, significantly damaged. Already grappling with outdated infrastructure, the city now faces an opportunity for transformation. The City of Fort Lauderdale, in collaboration with the Infrastructure Task Force, Dickey Consulting Services, Inc., and the American Institute of Architects student chapter at Florida Atlantic University, is embarking on a journey to create a new, modern, resilient, and community-focused space.
Engaging the Community
Recognizing the importance of aligning the new City Hall with the diverse needs of residents and businesses, Fort Lauderdale is initiating a series of public workshops. These workshops will serve as the cornerstone of an inclusive process, inviting residents to actively contribute to shaping the principles guiding the design and construction of the new City Hall
